Looking back at our company outing to Leipzig

On the occasion of the company's 30th anniversary, we enjoyed a successful three-day company outing to Leipzig. The days were characterised by a spirit of community as well as cultural and historical input.

We set off on Thursday and stopped in Eisenach in Thuringia on our way. We enjoyed beautiful sunshine and windy weather up at Wartburg Castle where we took part in an informative guided tour.

Having arrived in Leipzig, we were given an introduction to the city's rich history during a tour of the old town centre. Afterwards, we met up for pizza sharing and rounded off the first day in a cheerful atmosphere.

Friday kicked off with a tour of the BMW plant in Leipzig, whose efficient processes provided valuable inspiration. A real highlight!

In the afternoon, there was a range of activities to choose from: Some set off on a tour of Neuseenland, others took a boat trip through Karl Heine Canal, some had fun gaming in virtual reality while others delved deep into Leipzig's musical history.

In the evening, there was both Saxon cuisine and Saxon history: Rainer Müller, who was part of the civil rights movement and organised resistance in the GDR, took us back to the time of the peaceful revolution that ultimately led to the overthrow of the GDR dictatorship.

On Saturday morning, everyone had the opportunity to explore Leipzig on their own. Some went to the Monument to the Battle of the Nations (Völkerschlachtdenkmal), many visited Zeitgeschichtliches Forum Leipzig to delve even deeper into the history of the GDR, before we finally set off back home with a wealth of impressions.

Our company outing to Leipzig was more than just a trip - it was a real team adventure! From historical city tours to culinary highlights and evenings full of laughter and good conversation, we grew even closer as a team.
