What does sustainability mean for mbi?
As a company, we are committed to a sustainable and environmentally conscious way of doing business. Our business activities are always guided by our ethical principles. The topic of sustainability is a very important component in giving substance our ethical principles.
We pursue a consistent sustainability strategy that enables us to continually reduce our ecological footprint, with the aim of becoming a climate-neutral company.
What measures are in place at mbi?
We constantly analyse our business activities with regard to sustainability and have already taken a multitude of measures, with more in the pipeline.
Job ticket
To make travelling to work easier, mbi pays its employees 50% of the Deutschlandticket Jobticket.
Business Bike
To promote the health of our employees and reduce CO2 emissions, mbi offers the option of leasing a business bike.
Water dispenser
We do not offer bottled drinks but have instead installed water dispensers to purify tap water.
Purchases
We provide our employees with organic fruit from our local health food shop, organic soups, Fairtrade coffee, sustainable snacks, and use sustainable cleaning products and recycled paper.
Vegetarian meals
Every second company dinner is a so-called climate-friendly dish: CO2 consumption is 50% lower than for comparable conventional dishes.
Green electricity
Our locations in Rechtenbach and Wetzlar use 100% green electricity.
Wild meadow
A wild meadow is allowed to grow at both locations, which is not mowed in order to provide a habitat for wild bees and other insects.
Business trips
Whenever possible, employees use public transport for both short and long distance business trips.
Technology
We donate our outdated technology and office equipment to various charities or give it away to our employees.
Donations
Every year we support a sustainable project with a donation. In 2024, our donation went to Wilderness International and World Bicycle Relief.
What measures are planned?
Bike-friendly
With the certification as a bicycle-friendly employer, we want to offer an infrastructure that makes cycling easier and more attractive.
Photovoltaic system
We are planning to expand the use of renewable energies by installing a photovoltaic system at our site in Rechtenbach.
CO2 compensation
A CO2 offset is to be paid for business trips by car or plane.
