Benjamin, let’s start with a personal question: What did you want to be when you were a child?
The classic: policeman or footballer. I've always enjoyed doing sports. That's what I found exciting about both those jobs.
Sports don't play a big role in your professional life now, but you still do a lot of sport in your private life. What is it that excites you about it - and what do you do exactly?
Sport has always been an important balance for me - and still is today. I am particularly enthusiastic about trail running. I love being out and about enjoying nature, especially in the mountains. You calm down, you sort out your thoughts - and at the same time it requires concentration and stamina. Sport also helps me a lot to switch off from my everyday working life - especially now in my new role.
You have worked in many departments at mbi in recent years. Where did you start and which duties are part of your new role?
I started out in the HR department, where I was able to support and shape the growth of mbi. Over the years, I have been able to take on several other areas of responsibility, such as in-house IT.
You've known mbi for six years now. What makes the company special for you - and what motivated you to take on this new responsibility?
A lot of things... The people. The values. The focus of the work. Interaction with the entire staff is something very special at mbi. I also appreciate the collaboration with our customers - they do very valuable work that we support with conviction and passion.
How do you stay motivated at work? What are your tips?
I like to set myself new goals - both in sports and at work. Whether it's trail running or new tasks: For me, it's all about getting better step by step. I have gained a lot of trust and responsibility at mbi in recent years. Now I'm really looking forward to the new challenge and the duties that come with it.
Thank you very much for the interview, Benjamin - and all the best for your new role!
