Development of the Tariff Software "FEURIO"

The FEURIO software for fire and risk assessment was developed for the trade/industry section of R+V and is a high-quality tariff software solution tailored to the specific needs of office and technical staff.

With a staff of around 12,500 members the R+V Insurance Group ranks as one of the largest German insurance companies offering its company clients individual solutions for property insurances. In order to achieve this, R+V staff visit the companies and make a record of all the risk factors. Afterwards, these factors are assessed and the requested risks are tariffed.

FEURIO is involved in each stage of this process; starting out with the "Visiting Form", which the R+V staff use for recording all the relevant information on the policy holder, the premises, fire extinguishing devices and fire safety; passing on to the actual tariffing of risks, e.g. fire, burglary/theft or extended coverage perils; and eventually concluding with the calculation of both the net premium for specific risks and the total premium. During the whole procedure, the data transfer between office and technical staff is guaranteed by an interface at any time.

mbi developed this product together with the R+V trade/industry section and introduced it in their Wiesbaden headquarters as well as with their technical staff in 1997. Since then, it has been constantly extended by additional features, which are optimally tailored to the increasing number of new requirements. The daily work routine of currently around 200 users in Germany has changed fundamentally by simple data entry, fast tariffing and safe premium calculation, all at the touch of a button.
