As in previous years, the bridge run was a great opportunity to run through Wetzlar's old city centre together with numerous runners from schools, clubs, authorities and companies from Central Hesse. The mbi participants came together in three teams and had a lot of fun on the varied route: ‘It was great to see how many people came together to run for a good cause. It was a unique experience,’ summarised Richard Leichner, who was competing with mbi for the first time this year.
What was particularly motivating was the idea that the effort was not only rewarded in sporting terms, but also served a good cause: The entry fees will benefit Sportkreis Lahn-Dill e. V., which supports the ‘Bewegungslandschaft und Pumptrack’ project - an initiative that promotes exercise and sport among children and young people.
After the run, the mbi group went to the restaurant Tasch am Kornmarkt for a well-deserved end to the evening. The team rounded off the day with good food and socialising and enjoyed their time together. ‘It was the perfect end to a successful day,’ enthused Richard.
Richard and the other team members are already looking forward to the next Brückenlauf: ‘We have set ourselves the ambitious goal of running at the front with mbi in 2025. The motivation is there - and I'm convinced that we can do it!’
