Martin Bork

Managing shareholder and founder of mbi GmbH

Martin Bork studied agro-economics at the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen. After graduating in 1986 he first worked as an IT trainer at Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft e.V. In 1987, he moved to the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, where he worked in the area of development cooperation and was responsible for the planning, development and implementation of information systems in global projects and partner organizations.

He went self-employed in 1992 and founded mbi Unternehmensberatungs-GmbH in 1994. What was initially planned as working in the form of a freelance IT consultant quickly developed based on numerous assignments into a software firm with a steadily growing workforce.

Besides his tasks as Managing Director, Martin Bork still takes the time to assist in projects himself as a senior consultant.

Living ethical principles and values and taking responsibility is important to him in both his private and business life. That is why he devotes time, among other things, on a volunteering basis to the Christian business network “Christen in der Wirtschaft e.V.” (CiW).

Martin Bork is married and has five grown-up children. He lives with his wife in Weilburg in Mittelhessen.

Since founding mbi and until today, my motivation has always been the same: taking the customer’s needs seriously and realising the best possible software solution to meet those needs.
