FEURIO celebrating ten years of service
9 August 2007

FEURIO, the German acronym for Feuer-Risiko-Information und Organisation (fire risk information and organisation) is a PC application developed in 1997 by mbi for the R+V Allgemeine Versicherung insurance group. It is used by all R+V technical agents, directorate managers and underwriters visiting corporate clients of trade and industry at their sites to fix accurate insurance premiums. All relevant data may be entered on the spot ranging from the premises value over type of business to prior damages.

Key information is specifically assessed regarding security. Is the premises lit up? Is the fence secured? Are the electric installations regularly serviced? Is there a sprinkler system installed? Even a sketch map of the premises may be embedded. Based on all this risk data the program fixes the premium, deducts discounts and considers deductibles. Making the daily work more efficient, the risk and contract information is centralized and subsequently countrywide available for all agents. This speeds up communication on offers and fire protection issues.

On a yearly basis mbi staff and the responsible directorate managers consult together with the assigned FEURIO staff at R+V Allgemeine Versicherung on possible improvements. The 10th anniversary thus also marks a decade of successful cooperation between the staff of mbi and the R+V Allgemeine Versicherung team.
