The Setting
With a staff of around 11,000 organized in three directorate offices and 39 regional offices the R+V Allgemeine Versicherung AG (insurance group) is one of the biggest German insurers. Clients from industry, trade, craft, agribusiness and private households add up to about 13 million insurance contracts. Offered services range from standardized car, accident, property and life insurances to individual branch specific insurances and risk coverage concepts. In a partnership with the "Volksbanken" and "Raiffeisenbanken" banks the R+V insurance group is present at more than 20.000 bank branches in Germany.
The Task
The technical service staff of the Trade/Industry section of R+V visits company clients and calculates on the spot policy tariffs according to assessed conditions and criteria.
To simplify the risk assessment and tariff calculation it was decided, to equip the technical staff with laptops and have a custom software developed for this task.
The Solution
Based on the system specification, mbi developed the FEURIO application using the database MS ACCESS. Subsequently the 40 technical staff was equipped by R+V with laptops and the FEURIO software.
Being able to use FEURIO is a big step for the technical staff in easing their work. Data entry is now simple and fast and the proper policy tariffs are available on the spot with the touch of a button.
