History

2010

To optimize the service sector mbi GmbH will add two new divisions.

The software engineering division has the goal to make sure the mbi-software developers are up to date on the latest technological advances and to guarantee the use of the newest methods and technical expertise from the field of software engineering.

The quality assurance division provides through modern testing methods that the software applications will be delivered error free to the customer.

mbi develops in cooperation with GIZ GmbH a monitoring system to track the activities of the help organisations in Afghanistan. Built on the latest technology for web-based systems a databank based internet application is created. This new application provides the involved institutions the convenient option of tracking all the activities and results in one common system. Now, the required reports can be generated simply and fast.

2009

mbi presents its new company logo. The lettering´s clear design symbolically displays the importance of ethical values within the company. The highlighted pixel stands for the open attitude and the flexibility, which characterise mbi´s customer contact in particular.

After successfully finishing extensive alterations to its company building, mbi is moving into additional offices. This extension was necessary in order to create enough workspace for the ten new members of staff, who were engaged in 2009.

2008

mbi belongs to the exclusive circle of Microsoft Gold Certified Partners. The company has been awarded for its outstanding specialist competence in the fields of “Data Management Solutions” and “Mobility Solutions”.

2006

mbi has successfully introduced an inhouse system for the electronic annual accounts and the business register of the Bundesanzeiger, official notifications published by the Federal Ministry of Justice. The electronic annual accounts were published on 1 January 2007 for the first time. Since then, all the company information that must be published by law has been available online through this central web portal.

2005

On behalf of the Bundesanzeiger Verlagsgesellschaft mbH mbi develops the inhouse systems for the shareholder forum and the legal action register for the electronic Bundesanzeiger, which are both required by law.

With the first WINPACCS symposium on June 7th mbi starts a new type of event. It serves the exchange of experiences in the field of IT support for international aid organisations with a special focus on the WINPACCS software. Since then, the symposia have been an important platform for our customers.

2004

A special event at castle Staufenberg on June 2, 2004 marked the 10th anniversary of mbi GmbH.

mbi has been appointed Microsoft Certified Partner. The recognition was based on the high level of expertise of our staff and the excellent qualitiy rating of devloped software applications through our clients.

2003

mbi GmbH aquires the distribution and markting rights of WINPACCS, an integrated financial system for the financial management of projects of development cooperation and humanitarian emergency aid.

2002

The steady growth of the company requires additional office space.

A russian delegation on economic issues visits mbi to learn about the management of an innovative medium-sized consulting firm.

2001

mbi is carrying out increasingly complex IT projects. Together with the R+V insurance group a "Geno-Bankpolice" application is developed. For the Bundesanzeiger Verlagsgesellschaft mbH (federal publishing house) an "internet platform for insolvency publication" is implemented.

2000

Federal Minister for Work and Social Affairs Walter Riester visits mbi, representing a young, innovative and successful company.

Developing a concept for an electronic filing system for insolvency for the "Bundesanzeiger Verlagsgesellschaft mbH" (federal publishing house) is an entry into the e-publishing market.

1999

Regarding the formation of junior staff as an important task, mbi offers apprenticeships in the field of informatics and office management.

1998

mbi starts his first outreach activity with the mbi "dialog day" (Thementag) on September 25, 1998. Professionals from various branches actively participated in the presentations and discussions, evaluating the day a very successful event.

1997

After a long period of building, the removal into an own office building takes place.

An entry into the insurance industry is made by a contract about the development of the software "FEURIO" with the R+V Versicherungen insurance company.

1996

mbi receives its first international consulting contract from the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations, FAO.

1995

Parallel to regular consultancies a comprehensive project calls for the design and development of a cost monitoring software to be used in the worldwide development projects of the GTZ GmbH.

1994

The firm Martin Bork Information Systems is registered as an incorporated (limited) company (GmbH) under German law. From the beginning the new founded mbi GmbH is an IT management consulting firm that in addition develops software applications. A core principle is the independence from suppliers and manufacturers.

1993

Foundation of the firm, with Martin Bork starting to work as independent consultant. First assignments are with the GTZ GmbH and the Bundesanstalt für Arbeit (Federal Institute of Employment).
